A ratio is a comparison of two groups.

You can write a ratio 3 ways. Let's do the ratio of students who made A's to students who made B's.

In the example above, we compared part of a group to part of a group. You can use a ratios to compare
part to part, part to whole and
whole to part. It is very important that you keep the order. The ratio of A's to B's is
not the same ratio as B's to A's.
